The Orange County Clerk of Court is planning to begin opening up electronic records access to courthouse records for everyone, including the public, beginning on June 30th. This is a big change which is designed to allow easy access to a huge volume of records using your computer or internet enabled device. Of course, not all cases and not all documents will be available. Some documents may also be partially redacted.
This new access is due in part to the Florida Supreme Court ending a moratorium on this type of electronic assess and the Orange County Clerk is eager to start.
It is sure to have supporters and those with concerns over such broad and easy access. You can read more about the Online Electronic Records Access program at the Orange County Clerk’s website.
